F3 (Friends Futures Factory)

F3 Restaurant, based inside Friends Futures Factory, is one of those places that just works when you’re eating out with kids. It’s relaxed, welcoming, and doesn’t expect children to sit perfectly still or whisper at the table — which immediately takes the pressure off.

One of the biggest wins for us is the large outdoor space. It’s brilliant if you’ve got restless kids waiting for food — they can move around, explore a bit, and burn off energy while you wait, instead of everyone getting antsy at the table. That alone makes it a solid family option.

The space itself feels urban and creative rather than polished or fancy, with an open layout that suits the casual, come-as-you-are vibe. It feels forgiving — like no one’s judging if a child gets up mid-meal or you’re juggling snacks and cutlery.

Food-wise, I always order the pork noodle soup, and it’s genuinely delicious — comforting, full of flavour, and one of those dishes you end up craving again later. For the kids, chicken and cashew nut is their go to!

The staff are friendly and understanding, which makes a huge difference when you’re out with kids. And there’s also a really nice feel-good factor knowing it’s a social enterprise that supports and trains young people through hospitality — it just makes the whole experience feel that bit more meaningful.

Overall, F3 is a great shout for a laid-back lunch or early evening meal in the city. Good food, space for kids to be kids, and an atmosphere that makes family dining feel easy rather than stressful.
