Kinin
Whenever we want a genuinely stress-free meal out with the kids, Kinin is one of our absolute go-to spots in Phnom Penh. In fact, if you ask our eldest son where he wants to eat, his answer is always Kinin — which says a lot.
From the moment you walk in, the staff make you feel welcome, and they’re incredibly accommodating with children. They have highchairs available (a huge win for us), plus children’s cups, which instantly makes things easier. While you’re waiting for food, the staff will often chat with or play with the kids to keep them happy and occupied — something that makes a massive difference when you’re trying to enjoy a meal without rushing.
The restaurant itself strikes a really nice balance between relaxed and stylish. It feels special enough to be a treat, but not so formal that you’re worrying about kids wriggling, chatting, or needing attention.
The food is consistently delicious — full of flavour but still very manageable when you’re eating with kids around the table. It works just as well for a casual lunch as it does for a relaxed early dinner after a long day out.
And a quick but important note: do not skip dessert. The chocolate orange mousse is so good and has become a non-negotiable part of our visit.
Kinin is one of those rare places where you can eat well, relax, and feel genuinely looked after as a family — which is exactly why we keep going back.
