Get to know us

Hi, we’re Myer and Matt, a family of four living in Cambodia with our two little boys, Atlas (3) and Cove (2). We’re originally from England and first moved to Cambodia in 2019, but the Covid pandemic took us back home sooner than planned.

After having our children, we always knew we wanted to return. When our youngest was just four months old, we set off travelling as a family — and when we arrived back in Cambodia in November 2024, it instantly felt like home again.

We spent a year living in Phnom Penh, exploring the city with two toddlers, and in November 2025 we moved to Siem Reap, slowing down, spending more time in nature, and embracing a more relaxed pace of family life.

Little Locals Cambodia was created because we spent so much time trying to find things to do with kids, places to eat that actually work with toddlers, and where to buy baby essentials. We wanted to make that process easier for other families.

Everything we share is either tried and tested by us as a family, or clearly marked if it’s something we haven’t personally done yet.

We care about fun, affordability, kindness and safety, and if we wouldn’t do something with our own kids, we won’t recommend it.

Little Locals Cambodia is here to help expat families and travelling families feel confident, relaxed and at home while raising little ones in Cambodia.
