Angkor Botanical Garden

Angkor Botanical Garden is a really lovely, low-key outing for families in Siem Reap — especially if you want something calm, outdoors, and easy with kids.

One of the best things about it is that it’s free to enter — you just need to follow one of their social media pages to gain access. That makes it a great option if you’re looking for a budget-friendly activity that still feels like a proper day out.

The gardens are spacious and relaxed, with plenty of room for kids to wander at their own pace. What our children loved most was the animals. There are rabbits, chickens, ducks, ostriches, and fish (you can feed the fish by purchasing food for 2000r at the main entrance).

Because there’s always something to spot, kids stay engaged without needing much direction. They can move freely between areas, watch the animals, and take breaks whenever they need. It feels gentle and unrushed.

There’s also a café on site, which makes it easy to stop for a drink, snack, or break without needing to leave. It’s perfect for resetting energy levels or stretching the visit a little longer.

If you’re travelling with kids and want a free, outdoor activity in Siem Reap where they can explore, see animals, and relax at their own pace, Angkor Botanical Garden is a really easy, family-friendly choice.
