Walk Street

This is one of our favourite places for a weekend evening wander, open on Saturdays and Sundays from 6–11pm, everything really comes to life. If your kids love lights, music, dancing, and just watching the world go by, this spot is an absolute winner.

We’ve spent loads of evenings here doing nothing more than wandering slowly, stopping whenever something catches the kids’ attention. There’s always music playing, people dancing, performers doing their thing, and a really fun, buzzy atmosphere. Our kids don’t just watch either — they’re straight in, copying the dancing, joining in where they can, and soaking up the energy. It’s one of those places where no one bats an eyelid at kids jumping around or getting involved.

And then there’s the food… For families with adventurous little ones, this is the place to try some of Cambodia’s more unusual street snacks. Our kids absolutely love eating spiders here — so much so that our eldest actually asked for spiders for his birthday dinner last year. Crispy spiders, silkworms, even snake — whether your kids try them or just stare in amazement, it’s always a talking point and something they remember.

What we love most is how flexible it feels. It can be a quick 20-minute wander or a longer evening out, depending on energy levels. You can dip in and out, grab a snack, stop to watch a dance circle, then move on when it feels right.

It’s lively, a bit chaotic, very local — and that’s exactly why it works so well with kids. Perfect for a relaxed weekend evening where you don’t need a plan, just curiosity and a willingness to go with the flow.
