Wat Phnom Playground
Wat Phnom Playground is one of those places that’s not flashy or overdesigned, but does exactly what you need when you’ve got kids — it gives them space to play. Tucked near Wat Phnom, it’s a handy spot to let little ones run around, climb, and reset after being in a pram, car, or café.
The playground itself is very local and laid-back. You’ll usually see families, grandparents, and kids from the neighbourhood, which gives it a nice community feel. There’s no pressure for kids to behave a certain way — they can be loud, energetic, and fully themselves, which makes it a lot more enjoyable as a parent.
What we like is how easy it is to fit into a day. You don’t need to plan hours around it — you can stop by for 20 minutes or an hour, depending on attention spans and energy levels. It works really well as a break between sightseeing or errands, especially if your child just needs to move.
Overall, Wat Phnom Playground is a solid, no-frills option for families — nothing fancy, but reliable, relaxed, and very child-friendly in that everyday, local way.
Whilst we love this playground and use it often it is best to supervise your children, occasionally there have been some broken or sharp equipment.
