Play Grounds – Kids Play & Café
Play Grounds – Kids Play & Café is one of those places that might not look fancy, but works well with kids.
It’s fair to say it’s a little rough around the edges, especially if you’re used to the bigger, more polished play centres in Phnom Penh. There isn’t a huge amount to play with in comparison — but honestly, that didn’t matter at all. Our kids absolutely loved it, and we easily killed a full hour there without any effort.
In fact, when it was time to leave, our kids were genuinely upset because they wanted to stay longer, which says everything. Sometimes it’s not about having the most equipment, but having freedom for kids to play in their own way — and this place delivers on that.
It’s safe, relaxed, and very low-pressure, which makes it easy as a parent. You’re not constantly worrying or hovering, and kids can just get on with playing.
There’s no age limit, but in our opinion it’s best suited for children aged around 1–5 years. The setup, size, and pace of the play area feel just right for toddlers and preschoolers, while still being safe and manageable.
The price also makes it very hard to complain — it’s $1 per child per hour, which feels like incredible value. There are food and drinks available, mostly catered towards kids. We haven’t tried the food ourselves yet, so can’t comment on quality, but it’s handy to have options there if you need them.
Play Grounds is a great example of somewhere that doesn’t need to be perfect to be enjoyable. If you’re in Siem Reap and looking for an affordable, safe indoor play space where kids can happily burn time and energy, this is a really solid option.
