Botanical Gardens Playground

Botanical Gardens Playground is a lovely little find in Siem Reap if you’re looking for a calm, shaded outdoor play space for kids.

It’s a newly built wooden playground tucked inside the Botanical Gardens, but importantly, you don’t actually have to be visiting the gardens to use it — and it’s completely free. That makes it such an easy, no-pressure option when you just want somewhere for the kids to run and climb.

One of the best things about it is that it’s shaded, which makes a huge difference in Siem Reap’s heat. You still get that outdoor, fresh-air feel, but without everyone overheating within minutes. The equipment is simple and natural — climbing frames in a wooden style that blends beautifully with the surroundings.

It’s also conveniently located right next to the restaurant, which makes it incredibly practical. You can grab a drink or meal while the kids play, or let them burn off energy before sitting down — a really easy setup for families.

It’s particularly well suited to toddlers and younger children, though older kids will still happily climb and explore.

If you’re in Siem Reap and want a free, shaded outdoor playground that’s easy, relaxed, and family-friendly, this is a brilliant little spot to have saved.
