Makro

If you’re in Siem Reap with kids (whether living here or visiting longer-term), Makro is a brilliant place to stock up on snacks in bulk. We often head there to buy multipacks of the things our kids get through quickly — crackers, juice boxes, yoghurt drinks, cereal bars — and it definitely helps save money compared to buying small packs elsewhere.

It’s also great for picking up everyday essentials like diapers, wipes and other baby basics.

One thing that surprises a lot of people is that you don’t need a Makro card — it’s open to everyone. You can simply walk in and shop like any other supermarket, which makes it very accessible for families who are just passing through.

The store itself is big and easy to navigate with a trolley, and because it’s warehouse-style, it’s usually quick to get in, stock up, and get out — which is ideal when you’ve got kids in tow.
