Tsutaya Bookstore

Tsutaya Bookstore is one of our favourite places in Phnom Penh to buy books for kids.

The children’s book section is genuinely lovely. There’s an amazing selection of brand new books for all ages — sturdy board books for toddlers, beautiful picture books, and early readers — and it’s set up in a way that makes browsing feel relaxed rather than chaotic. All the books are covered by a plastic but if you want to flick through any, the staff have no issue opening them up for you.

It’s worth saying that Tsutaya is a little pricy, but for us the quality and range make it worth it. If you’re looking for brand new books in great condition, or something a bit more special than your average bookstore find, this is a brilliant place to come.

We tend to come here when we’re buying books we know we’ll read again and again, or when we want a meaningful gift rather than another toy. If you’re happy to pay a little more for a fantastic selection and a peaceful shopping experience, Tsutaya Bookstore is a great family-friendly option.
